  1. I'm having a lot trouble solving #22 on pg 465.. I don't know where to start because the distance from the support post to the front of the house is not proportional to anything but itself, so I don't know how to solve it!

    1. See corollary 1 to 7-3... the altitude (the post) is the geometric mean of the segments it "cuts" of the hypotenuse.

You could figure it out with trial and error (yuch!) OR see that the two segments can be defined as 'x' and '25-x' thus yielding a QUADRATIC EQUATION that can be SOLVED!!!!!

      Does the excitement ever end??!!

    2. Can we please use bibles? I have no idea how I'll be able to remember all of these corollaries and theorems.. Or even what they say!

    1. I have a question for 8-3... Should we use calculators for all the "tan" questions? Such as 7 & 8 on the lesson check?

    2. Woops I mean the "sin" for #8!

  4. I don't really understand questions like #8 on 8-3.. I looked at the example problem and I'm having trouble using the inverse of sine, etc. In the example Problem #3, how does the "sin" just disappear from one side and the inverse goes to the other side of the equation on A?
